Donations and Support

Financial Donations

Uxbridge Public Library is always grateful for assistance in making our community library even better!    Donors can request their donation go towards the purchase of library materials, supporting library programs, the Zephyr Branch or the Genealogy Department.  Please let us know how you would prefer your donation to be used if you are donating in person or by mail.  The link below has a drop-down option for this information.  Financial donations are accepted in person, online and by mail.  Please make any cheques out to “Uxbridge Public Library” or “Zephyr Public Library”.

Materials Donations

We accept donations of books and other materials that we loan.  The items must be in very good condition and suitable for our collection.  We are not able to accept damaged or musty items, dictionaries, encyclopedias, textbooks or manuals.

Due to storage limitations, we ask that you call for a drop-off appointment time prior to bringing your items in AND that you adhere to a one box or two bags limit per family per week.

While the Uxbridge and Zephyr Public Libraries do accept new and used book donations, we are not able to issue a tax receipt for these books.

Adopt-a-Book and Adopt-a-magazine

The Adopt-a-Book/Adopt-a-Magazine allows the donor to select the book or magazine that they would like to sponsor with the assistance of library staff.  If you are interested in purchasing a book or a one-year magazine subscription, please talk to staff at the circulation desk for suggestions.  We want to ensure that the material will fit with our current collection needs and priorities.  Once you have chosen an item to sponsor with a staff member, we will let you know the amount and you may pay for the item with cash or debit at the circulation desk.  We will look after ordering the item on our end because the library receives a discount for many of the items that we purchase.  Because of this individualized approach, the cost is very much up to you but for a minimum donation of $20.00 you will receive a tax receipt issued by the Township of Uxbridge.

If you are interested in this program but are not able to talk to library staff in person, please consider sending an email to uxbridgelibrary@uxlib.com for item suggestions.
