Summer Reading Program

The TD Summer Reading Club is the largest bilingual reading program in Canada. This year all of their materials have been moved online. From their website the TD Summer Reading Club has created a space where your child is able to create an online notebook to track the books they have read while also participating in fun literacy based activities.

When your child signs up they will also be able to join the Uxbridge Public Library’s summer camp staff in a scheduled Zoom call each week where they will be able to connect with kids in their own age range.  Much like in past years your child will be able to report on the books they read in a fun and interactive way!

Zoom calls will be invite only and will consist of a 30 minute group call where everyone will get a chance to speak about:

  • How many books they have read
  • A book that they liked/ what they liked about the book

With this children will get social time with others in their age group and will be able to connect in a communal atmosphere from the safety of their own homes.

Bringing back the classic marble drop from years past, kids will get to see a visual accumulation of books read each time they report. One marble for each book read!

For other online programs participants must email or phone the Uxbridge Public Library for sign up. In return they will receive a confirmation email with a link and a password to join the Zoom session for the event’s specific date and time.
