Getting a Library Card

A Library Card is free to:

Residents of the Township of Uxbridge and communities in Durham Region (proof of residence required, such as a valid driver’s license).

Workers who are employed in the Township of Uxbridge (proof of employment required, such as a pay cheque stub).

Students who attend school in the Township of Uxbridge (proof of enrollment required).

All individuals under the age of 13 or are in Grade 6 or less are required to have a parent or guardian accept responsibility for their borrowing privileges. The signing parent or guardian must be a patron of the Uxbridge Public Library in good standing.

Library Users Responsibilities

Changes of address and lost or stolen cards must be reported immediately. Borrowers are responsible for all materials signed out on their cards. Do not lend your card to anyone else.

The Uxbridge Public Library does not restrict the borrowing of library materials based on age-appropriateness. It is the responsibility of the parent(s) to monitor their child’s selection of materials. Parents must also accept responsibility for their children’s behaviour in the library.

Replacement Cards

There is a replacement fee of $2.00 for a lost or damaged library card.

Wooden cards are also available for $5.00
